The Story Behind Jackie's Wild Seattle

By Olivia

This page is dedicated to the story that Jackie's Wild Seattle is based on. The tale is located in the back of the book as the author's note. It is about a man named Bob Jones and lady named Kaye Baxter. She is basically the Jackie in real life, and he is nicknamed "Crazy Jones" or "Crazy Bob". His nickname origanates from when he tried to save a red-tailed hawk on a steep roof in a raging lightning storm. He saved many animals, incuding a coyote stuck in an elevator (just like in the book). Mr. Jones also has a rescue dog named Billie, whom has saved tons of animals in need. Uncle Neal, in Jackie's Wild Seattle, is based on Crazy Bob, Sage is Billy and Kaye Baxter is Jackie.
Jackie's Wildlife Center and Rehab is also based on a real facility, The Sarvey Wildlife Center. You can go to their website by clicking on the link at the bottom of this the page. The Sarvey Wildlife Center cares for any kind of animal that needs their help. They take care of bears, deer, birds, and much, much more.
